The TRUTH about fasted workouts

Fasted workouts involve exercising on an empty stomach, typically in the morning or after a significant period of not eating (around 4-6 hours). While they may lead to initial fat loss and can be beneficial for metabolism healing and hormone balance, they are not ideal for overall health in the long run.

Engaging in fasted workouts, especially for women, can increase stress levels in the body, potentially compromising immunity and hormonal balance. Instead, to achieve sustainable fat loss, focus on boosting your basal metabolic rate, building lean muscle mass, consuming adequate protein, getting quality sleep, engaging in appropriate types and amounts of physical activity, and maintaining a strategic calorie deficit.

If you've turned to fasted workouts because you lack appetite, this may be a sign of elevated cortisol levels. Skipping breakfast in this situation can further stress the body. It's advisable to start by having small, simple snacks like a banana, yogurt, or toast before your workout to kickstart your appetite and provide the necessary fuel for your gym session.
